Its September, and everyone is heading back to school. That means seeing all of our teachers every day, buying new school supplies, and playing and watching fall sports. What does September also mean? Homecoming week is right around the corner.
This year, homecoming will take place during the week of September 19th - 24th. There will be tons of fun activities throughout the week for the Newman students, such as dress up days, field day, and our traditional Friday night pep rally. However, the big day to look forward to is Saturday, September 24th, the last day of Homecoming Week.
On Saturday morning, the Pep Club will be organizing car decorating at the Newman Catholic High School/Middle School parking lot. There will be car paint, balloons, and streamers available for decorating cars.
Everyone is invited to come - parents, students, teachers, even alumni! The cars will then be escorted to Thom Field by police cars in a special motorcade.
At Thom Field, there will be a tailgate, where everyone who comes to the motorcade as well as the football game is invited to come and eat.
At 1:00, the Newman Catholic High School Football team will play against Thorp High School. The pep band will perform their annual halftime field show. This is a great opportunity to come out and support the football team!
On Saturday night, all current Newman Catholic High School students are invited to return to the school for the annual Homecoming Dance.
The music will be spun by none other than Newman alum Marshall DeLonay. The Homecoming Dance is informal, but it will still be lots of fun. The dress code will be enforced at the dance
Have a great Homecoming Week, and GO CARDS!
